You talk and I’ll listen

One of the best ways for me to become a better state representative is for me to hear more of the thoughts and concerns of the people I have the privilege of representing. (Were you listening? I need to “hear” from more people. No, you’re not dreaming, this public servant really wants to be quiet and listen).
Job 34:2-4 states “Hear my words, you wise men; listen to me, you men of learning. (3) For the ear tests words as the tongue tastes food. (4) Let us discern for ourselves what is right; let us learn together what is good.”
Alabama state politics are fast and furious during our “once a year” Legislative session. It’s a lot like when you were in school. There’s always someone waving their hand in the air, (I’ll bet you can still remember those students), ready to take your place at the podium. So, each legislator had better have done their homework if they want to be able to really represent their constituents at the podium in “The People’s House.”
The Jefferson County Commission has been nice enough to furnish me with an office in the Jefferson County Courthouse at Third Avenue and 18th Street in Bessemer. (Room 301). So, beginning Feb. 2, I will be at our office in downtown Bessemer every first and third Monday from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. If one of these days does not work for you, just call and we will set up a day and time that will. So, stop by and help me with my homework, tell me what’s on your mind. That is the only way I can truly represent all the people of Alabama’s House District 15.

Proverbs 21:28 states A false witness will perish, but a careful listener will testify successfully.

God Bless America!!!
