Margaret Lyon, age 90, of North Shelby County, died Tuesday, Jan. 13.
The memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 17 at Bolton Funeral Home in Columbiana. Dr. Mac Stinson will be officiating. Burial will be at Johnson Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 17 at Bolton Funeral Home.
Mrs. Lyon graduated from Shelby County High School in 1942. She was a school secretary in Charlotte, N.C., as well as a realtor in Birmingham. She was a member of Valleydale Church where she was very active in the Sunshine Joy Sunday School class. She was also a member of the Indian Valley Women’s Club. Her life was devoted to her husband, her faith, and her family.
Mrs. Lyon is preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Carl Lyon, Sr.
She is survived by her daughter, Sherry Lyon White; sons, Ray Lyon (Sheila) and Sam Martin Lyon (Karen); grandchildren, Ann White Zell (Greg), Kate White Etheredge, Byron Rush White, Elijah Lyon White (Beverly), Erin Myrick (Jason), Ben Lyon (Shelly), Wade Lyon (Erin), Stinson Lyon (Rachel), Samantha Lyon and Ray Lyon; great-grandchildren, Tasha Zell, Megan Zell, Patrick Etheredge, Brennan Terrell, and Byron R. White; great-great-grandchild, Jade Harris; sister-in-law, Louise Lyon; nephews, Dr. Mac Stinson (Glenda), Phil Lyon, Jeff Lyon and Ray Carr (Brenda); niece, Diane Carr Boles (Charles) and many much loved great-nieces and great-nephews.
