Lapping Cancer: Relay for Life of Hoover to honor and support people who battled cancer and their families

Kutler Morris celebrated his first birthday with a party at Oak Meadows Park. He is the son of Wade and Amanda Morris of Wilsonville. He is the grandson of Tony and Jenny Morris of Wilsonville and Mile and Rhonda Sykes of Wilsonville. Great-grandparents are Jake and Emily Morris of Wilsonville, the late Charles Glenn and Janet Glenn of Alabaster, Bruce and Jerry Bates of Calera, the late Joe Sykes of Calera, the late Bill Holmes and Gerldine Holmes of Wilsonville.

Hearing this six-letter word can change a person and his or her family’s life in an instant: cancer. To some, it feels like a death sentence, while others question how it could happen to them. No matter the circumstances, the American Cancer Society (ACS) is working to give people affected by cancer hope and encouragement with events like Relay for Life.
