ALABASTER – A 24-year-old Alabaster man is facing multiple felony drug-related charges after officers said he allegedly sold marijuana from his apartment in Alabaster.

The Shelby County Drug Enforcement Task Force arrested Andrew Scott Jones on Aug. 28 and charged him with three felony counts of unlawful distribution of a controlled substance, one felony count of first-degree possession of marijuana and one misdemeanor count of possession of drug paraphernalia.

Jones’ arrest came after he allegedly sold marijuana from his apartment in the 1700 block of Woodbrook Trail off Alabama 119 in Alabaster on multiple occasions. According to his arrest warrant, Jones allegedly sold marijuana from his apartment on May 29, June 18 and Aug. 26, and allegedly possessed marijuana for a reason “other than his personal use” on Aug. 27.

Jones was released from the Shelby County Jail on Aug. 29 after posting bonds totaling $56,000. He is scheduled to appear in the Shelby County Courthouse for a preliminary hearing at 8:30 a.m. on Sept. 24, according to court records.

Unlawful distribution is a Class B felony, and is punishable by up to 20 years in prison upon conviction. First-degree possession of marijuana is a Class C felony, and is punishable by up to 10 years in prison upon conviction.
