Sometimes the world seems to be spinning out of control and all the news you hear is bad. Then something happens to restore your faith in mankind.
This happened to my family through the generosity and help of Clem Muck and the missionary Elders in Purcellville, Va., and Birmingham of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
My son and family recently moved from Virginia to Birmingham. LDS member Clem Muck has become a good friend through my work with the Shelby County Reporter as I have told of the LDS good work with the Columbiana Cemetery, Shelby County Museum and Archives, their Family Resource Center and more.
Muck offered to coordinate and supply Elders to help move my son, twice! Four to six young men came to my son’s home in Virginia and then more Elders met him in Birmingham on two separate trips and move all his furniture and possessions.
I am not a member of the LDS church. I still cannot believe that these young, strong, nice men did this for my family for no pay, nothing, just an act of service as part of their commitment to love Christ.
These young men of integrity and strong character helped restore my faith. Thank you Clem Muck and LDS Elders; you are simply the best.
