COLUMBIANA—A 27-year-old Columbiana man was arrested on July 1 and charged with manufacturing, possessing and trafficking meth, according to charging documents filed in the case.

According to court documents, Ronny Colt Pate, whose address is listed on the 200 block of Mizzell Road in Columbiana, did “knowingly sell, manufacture, deliver or bring into this state, or knowingly have in actual or constructive possession” 43 grams of methamphetamine.

Pate is also being charged with the manufacture of a controlled substance in the first degree, after allegedly “manufacturing” 43 grams of methamphetamine oil, according to documents.

In addition, “on or about” July 1, Pate allegedly did “unlawfully possess” one gram of powder methamphetamine and “unlawfully use or possess with intent to use” one straw to “ingest” methamphetamine, according to charging documents.

The manufacture of a controlled substance in the first degree and trafficking drugs are both Class A felonies. If found guilty, Pate could face between 10 and 99 years in prison for each count. Possession of a controlled substance is a Class C felony. If found guilty of this charge, Pate could face between one and 10 years in prison. Possession of drug paraphernalia is a Class A misdemeanor. If found guilty, Pate could face up to one year in prison.

Pate is currently jail on bonds totaling $206,000 and is set to appear before Judge Dan Reeves.
