ALABASTER — The second-annual Alabaster Cityfest 5k was held June 7 at 8 a.m. to kick off the day’s festivities. A change was made, as the event was slated to start at Larry Simmons Stadium, but was moved to Warrior Park.

Michael Johnson took the overall win with a time of 15:56, beating out 66 other racers in the process. Johnson also captured the overall male win, as he finished .4 seconds ahead of second place overall Zach Ridgway.

Rounding out the top 10 overall were: Brad Clay, Stephanie Ridgway (overall female winner), Scott Crawford, Lori Goldweber, Zachary Carnes, Randy Millican, Jeff Williams and Scott Wood.
