Man charged in George shooting also charged with Sanpeggio’s robbery

MONTEVALLO—Terry Christopher Searcy, who was charged with first-degree robbery and first-degree assault in connection with the Jan. 20 shooting of Lauren George, was arrested and charged with the Jan. 19 armed robbery of Sanpeggio’s Pizza.
Searcy, whose address is listed in the 100 block of Roberlyn Lane in Montevallo, was arrested March 4 and charged with using “force or threaten the imminent use of force” against a Sanpeggio’s Pizza employee. Searcy was armed with a handgun at the time of the robbery.
Searcy is currently in the Shelby County Jail on bonds totaling $30,000.
According to Alabama law, first-degree robbery is a Class A felony. If convicted, Searchy could face between 10 and 99 years in prison for the robbery.
