Two Shelby County teenagers who were reported missing earlier this week have been found.
At about 8:45 a.m. Feb. 12, Shelby County sheriff’s deputies and Hoover police officers were notified of a possible sighting of 14-year-olds Dalton Stern and Jacob Sweeney in the area off U.S. 280 and Hugh Daniel Road.
“Sheriff’s deputies and Hoover officers arrived in the area and located them,” according to a news release issued by the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office. “Both teens are reported to have been safely returned to their parents.”
Authorities believe Stern and Sweeney ran away from their respective homes Feb. 10. Investigators plan to follow up with the Stern and Sweeney families.
