The Alabaster City Council soon will modify its meeting schedule to accommodate a council member’s new work assignment, council members said during a Feb. 3 meeting.

During the meeting, the City Council voted unanimously to change its meeting schedule to the second and fourth Monday of each month at 7 p.m. at Alabaster City Hall beginning with the April 14 meeting.

The City Council currently meets the first and third Mondays of each month at 7 p.m.

The new schedule will help to accommodate the new work schedule for Ward 5 Councilman Russell Bedsole, who is a sergeant at the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office.
