The Pelham Civic Complex and Ice Arena has opened as a shelter for people stranded in the storm, Director Danny Tate said.

“There are about eight people here right now,” he said. “Several of them are trying to get back on the road.”

Tate said the civic complex will be open and staffed by employees “until (they) are not needed.”
