Movoto Real Estate has named four Shelby County cities among the “The Top 10 Best Places in Alabama.”

The cities of Pelham, Calera, Chelsea and Alabaster are listed as Nos. 3, 5, 7 and 10 respectively.  Movoto considered seven factors — total amenities, quality of life, total crimes, tax rates, unemployment, commute time and weather — in compiling its list.

Pelham came in as one of the safest cities on the list, while Calera and Chelsea are cited among the fastest growing cities in Alabama. Alabaster, which has been ranked as one of Money Magazine’s 100 Best Places to Live, is lauded for its education system and student to teacher ration of 13:1.

Cities rounding out the Top 10 are Auburn, Madison, Florence, Enterprise, Mountain Brook and Albertville.
