Maegan Vick, counselor at Helena Elementary School, has been named Elementary Counselor of the Year by the Alabama School Counselor Association. Vick received the prestigious award at the 2013 ALCA Annual Conference Awards Luncheon, held Nov. 21 at Birmingham Sheraton.
“I am so thankful I have the privilege of being a counselor in the Shelby County School System,” Vick said. “All the counselors in Shelby County work diligently to meet the needs of others on a daily basis, and we are happy to do so. To be recognized by the Alabama School Counselor Association as the Elementary School Counselor of the Year is an honor. However, I feel all our counselors are deserving of this title.”
Principal Mary Cooper said Vick is an amazing school counselor who deserves the statewide recognition.
“I am so proud of her. She is incredibly deserving of this award,” Cooper said.
