Dean “Nana” Brown, 82, of Centreville, passed away at Bibb Medical Nursing Home on Friday, Oct. 11, 2013. Mrs. Brown was a loving grandmother and great-grandmother. She enjoyed being with her family and helping others. She was always willing to give what she had to meet the needs of others.

Survivors include daughters, Brenda McQueen (Henry) and Donna Dickson (Cecil); grandchildren, Mandi Colvin (Todd), Heather Dees (Marty), Holly Jackson (Jay) and John Dickson (Brittney); great-grandchildren, Tanner and Macy Colvin, Samson and Hadley Ruth Dees, John Thomas Jackson and Cecila Faye Dickson; sisters, Bennie McMillian and Sally Kornegay (George); and many nieces and nephews.

Graveside services were at 2 p.m. on Oct. 13 at Montevallo City Cemetery with Rev. Barry Kornegay. Pallbearers were Todd Colvin, Marty Dees, John Dickson, Jay Jackson, Kirk Hamby and Bret Jones. Honorary pallbearers were Dr. John Meigs and staff, Bibb Medical Center and staff, Bibb Medical Center Nursing Home and staff and Dr. Jonathan C. Merkle and staff.
