COLUMBIANA – The Shelby County Arts Council announced Aug. 15 that it will soon hire a new executive director. The Arts Council is currently accepting applications.
According to a press release, the executive director will “develop, oversee and implement initiatives” sponsored by the council, manage personnel and volunteers, work closely with the Board of Directors, lead fundraising efforts and collaborate with community partners, among other duties.
Founder and past president Terri Sullivan has filled the role as a volunteer since 2005. The organization’s growth “has made the hiring of a full time executive director a necessity,” according to the press release.
The ideal candidate would have three or more years of experience managing and operating an organization with experience fundraising, managing projects, leading marketing efforts and collaborating with others to problems, the press release said.
Interested applicants should submit a cover letter, resume, three references and salary history and expectations via email to Kevin Gustin, president of the board of directors, at gustin@bellsouth.net.
The board of directors will meet Sept. 3 to discuss candidates with the goal of hiring a new executive director by Sept. 16, the press release said.
