Taylor signs with UWF

Former Coosa Valley outfielder/pitcher Zac Taylor will continue his collegiate baseball career at the University of West Florida. Taylor, who helped lead Wallace State Community College-Hanceville the past two years, will join WSCC teammate Dustin Lawley at West Florida this fall.
Taylor, who stands at 6-foot, 190 pounds, The 6-foot, accumulated a team-best .418 average and 19 doubles, while adding five home runs and 41 RBIs.
The largest leap for a WSCC player was for Tyler Hannah of Gardendale, who is bound for the University of Tennessee. Lawley, Taylor and Hannah were all Alabama Community College Conference (ACCC) All-Region XXII First Team selections.
Additionally for Wallace State, Hayes Orton has committed to play at Coastal Carolina, Ryan Davis at Southern Polytechnic State University in Marietta, Ga., Andrew Brook and Will Rankin at the University of North Alabama, Carlton Paris at South Alabama and Marty Stewart at Huntingdon College.
Wallace State finished the season with a 38-13 mark and clinched the second seed in the Northern Division before being eliminated in their opening two games of the ACCC Tournament.
