Shelby County standouts to play in all-star game

Fifteen Shelby County high school baseball standouts have been selected to participate in the Chilton County Lions Club all-star baseball game May 21 in Clanton.
Baseball standouts from Montevallo, Calera, Chelsea, Shelby County and Briarwood Christian will play in the game. The Shelby County team will play a team from Chilton County at noon before facing a team from Autauga County at 2 p.m.
The team is made up of seniors who graduate this month and players who just completed their junior seasons.
Players from Montevallo include junior Taylor Burr, junior Eric Smith and senior Patrick Baugh. Calera players include junior Jeremy Hyde, senior Nathan Smith and senior Chase Jones. Chelsea players include junior Eli Bashour, junior Joey Mock and junior Matthew Graben.
Players from Shelby County include senior Trey Howard, junior Evan McNeal and junior Mike Pate. Briarwood Christian players include senior Logan Crook, senior Harrison Foster and junior Ben Craft.
The team will be coached by Montevallo coaches Trey Simpson and Shane Baugh, Calera coach Stephen Floyd, Chelsea coach Michael Stallings and Shelby County coach Shane Beasley.
