The Montevallo High School softball team placed first in the Class 3A, Area 6 tournament to advance to the region tournament in Troy.

Montevallo defeated Tarrant 15-0, Leeds 5-4 and Leeds 13-12 in the championship game.

Destiny Upton won all three games for Montevallo. Megan Docery had two home runs with Upton adding a home run in the tournament. Montevallo will begin the regional tournament May 10 at 9:30 a.m.
