Calera sweeps past Maplesville

The Calera Eagles softball team picked up a pair of victories in a doubleheader at Maplesville April 1.
The Eagles (11-7-1) took the first game of the doubleheader 7-1. Charley Clark finished the game 3-for-3 with a RBI and Shelby Clark went 3-for-4 with two RBIs. Kymber McGiboney, Somer Robinson and Aubrie Smith each had a triple for the Eagles.
Emily Sanders pitched seven innings in the win allowing one run on four hits with four strikeouts.
Calera scored eight runs in the first inning of game-two for a 19-4 victory. Shelby Wright led the way batting 2-for-4 with a triple, three RBIs and two runs scored. Charley Clark, Robinson, Skyler Laird and Smith each added three RBIs for Calera.
