Harper-Skelton
Michael Harper of Ranburne and Lauren Skelton of Wilsonville were married on Jan. 5 at 2 p.m. at Mountain View Baptist Church in Ranburne. Harper is the son of Ann Harper and the late John Harper. Skelton is the daughter of Deborah Crumpton of Wilsonville and Greg Skelton of Hoover, granddaughter of the Rev. Joe and Terry Stone and James and Jessie Skelton. Harper graduated from Auburn University in 2006 with a Bachelor of Biosystems Engineering. Skelton graduated Southern Union State Community College on 2011 and holds a Certificate of Paramedic.
The Rev. Joe Stone of Wilsonville officiated. Best man was Kyle Harman of Ranburne, friend of the groom. Groomsmen were David Kidd of Ranburn, Ben Palmer of Naples, Fla., Jesse Skelton of Wilsonville, Ben Mullins of Montgomery, Michael Vega of Montgomery and Paul Daniel of Montgomery. Matron of Honor was Channing Blackmon Perry of Wilsonville, friend of the bride. Maid of Honor was Danielle Farricker of Auburn, friend of the bride. Bridesmaids were Rachel Warren of Columbiana, Autumn Barber of Ranburne and Meghan Elliot of Hoover. Amberly Barber of Ranburne was flowergirl, niece of the groom. Buck Jordan and Kameron Boyett of Smiths Station were ushers. Ring bearer was Cooper Benitez of Columbiana.
The bride’s bouquet consisted of white hydrangeas and baby’s breath wrapped in ivory ribbon and lace from her mother’s wedding gown. The bridesmaids carried bouquets of baby’s breath wrapped in hot pink ribbon. Skelton wore an ivory taffeta A line gown featuring a bow and a rhinestone brooch while her bridesmaids wore hot pink dresses with cowboy boots.
The reception was held at Bell House Bed and Breakfast Barn in Heflin. The couple spent their honeymoon in Gatlinburg, Tenn., and currently reside in Montgomery.
