The No. 3 Kingwood Christian Lions held off Tuscaloosa Academy for a 63-62 victory in the AISA Class 3A, Region II championship game Feb. 2.

The Lions’ John Fillingim hit a free throw to give Kingwood the lead with 1.2 seconds left. Tuscaloosa Academy had their last chance literally stolen from them by Titus Adams as the Lions claimed their third win over their region rivals.

Adams led Kingwood with 17 points, 10 rebounds and five steals. Jacob Bussey, Tyler Harrell and Josh Purvis each added nine points for the Lions.
