WILTON – Alabama 25 in Wilton will be partially closed tonight for an extended period of time while workers repair a damaged water main, according to a release from the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office.

Sheriff’s deputies will be directing traffic between the intersections of Shelby County 73 and Shelby County 8, where they intersect Alabama 25. At times the roadway will be completely closed and when possible it will be reduced to one lane with deputies directing traffic, the release stated.

The repairs to the water main will take approximately five or six hours. The roadway should be open to normal traffic by tomorrow morning, Feb. 1, as local residents travel to work.

All motorists in the area are encouraged to use caution and drive slowly in the area. Be aware of deputies directing traffic and follow their direction, the release stated.
