HOOVER — Hoover City Schools will delay opening Jan. 30 because of potential severe weather in the area.

Schools will open three hours late, and buses will also run on a three-hour delay.

Due to its special schedule on Wednesdays, Spain Park High School will open at 12:05 p.m. Spain Park students should report directly to first period, according to an email from Hoover City Schools.

Severe straight-line winds are expected before 10 a.m., and the weather could potentially produce severe thunderstorms.
