HOOVER — Hoover will continue to use Shelby County’s mapping services after the Hoover City Council approved an agreement Jan. 22.

Hoover Mayor Gary Ivey will execute the agreement, through which the city will update its geographic information system data. Shelby County professionals will take aerial photographs and gather map feature data to update the system, according to the resolution.

The city has budgeted $75,000 for professional mapping services in its budget for this fiscal year, according to a letter to Ivey from Bill White, the city’s acting support services director.

This is the third year that Hoover has used Shelby County’s mapping services.
