Shelby County routs Vincent, 56-18

VINCENT – The Shelby County Wildcats girls’ basketball team took control early to take a 56-18 victory over Vincent Yellow Jackets Jan. 18.
Shelby County took a 24-5 lead in the opening quarter led by Hallie Brown. Brown scored 13 of her game-high 15 points in the first quarter.
The Wildcats held Vincent to just three points in the second for a 36-8 lead at the half.
The Yellow Jackets had their best scoring quarter of the night when they tallied eight points in the third for a 52-16 Shelby County lead headed into the fourth.
Vincent scored a field goal to start the fourth, but was held scoreless the rest of the game to fall 56-18.
Kalen Starks added 14 points for Shelby County while Marjane Head finished with 11 points.
Jasmine Banks and Brooklyn Jones each scored seven points to lead Vincent.
