All after-school extracurricular activities have been canceled in Shelby County schools Jan. 17, according to a release from the school system.

“Due to the current weather conditions and the concern about falling temperatures tonight all Shelby County after school extracurricular activities will be canceled. This does not include afternoon practices that end before 6 p.m. or after school daycare,” the release stated.

School leaders will be monitoring road conditions early tomorrow morning to determine if a delayed opening is warranted, the release stated.
