The Thompson Warriors fell to Pope (Ga.) 49-19 in a battle of top teams in the southeast region.

The Warriors won five decisions in the duel with just one pin.

Brewer Gilliland pinned Pope’s Nate Scarbrough to lead Thompson with six points. Demario Haynes and Reed Jacks each won their matches by decision while Riley Pike won by major decision to score four points for the Warriors. Nick Hall won his 170 class match by a tie breaker.

Thompson returns to action Dec. 1 at the UTC Old Timers Duals Tournament in Chattanooga, Tenn.
