The Thompson High School girls’ tennis team defeated Pelham 8-1 in high school tennis action April 14.

The Warriors won five of the six singles’ matches and all three doubles’ matches against Pelham.

Laura Harwell of Thompson won the No. 1 singles’ match by forfeit. Erin Hutter of Thompson defeated Katie Kema of Pelham 10-4 in the No. 2 singles’ match.

Victoria Killingsworth of Thompson defeated Kathryn White of Pelham 10-4 in the No. 4 singles’ match. Maci Hendrix of Thompson defeated Leanna Cocke of Pelham 10-5 in the No. 5 singles’ match.

Olivia Sorrell of Thompson defeated Elizabeth Hartzog of Pelham 10-1 in the No. 6 singles’ match.

Hutter and Maria Siow of Thompson defeated Kema and Sidney Garner of Pelham 6-3, 6-0 in the No. 1 doubles’ match. Harwell and Killingsworth defeated White and Cocke 6-0, 6-1 in the No. 2 doubles’ match.

Hendrix and Sorrell defeated Brooke Cole and Hartzog of Pelham 6-1, 6-2 in the No. 3 doubles’ match.

Cole won the lone match for the Panthers as she defeated Siow 10-6 in the No. 3 singles’ match.
