A 23-year-old Alabaster woman was pronounced dead at the scene following an April 6 wreck on Alabama 119 in Pelham.

The wreck happened at 12:17 p.m. near the Southern Heritage Funeral Home, and involved three vehicles.

Rev. Kimberly Nicole Gilham, a 23-year-old Alabaster resident, died in the wreck. Gilham graduated with a degree in ministry in 2009 from the Birmingham Metro Masters Commission, which is a ministry of Kingwood Church in Alabaster.

“We don’t have many details about what happened right now, because the case is still under investigation,” said Pelham Police Lt. Scott Tucker.

One other victim was injured in the wreck, and was transported to UAB Hospital in Birmingham.

More details of the wreck will be posted as they are released.

Gilham is survived by her parents, Rodger and Sherry, an older brother, Christopher Gilham, Christopher’s wife, Amy R. Gilham, her nephew, Brody Christopher Gilham and her younger brother Adam R. Gilham, all from Alabaster. She is also survived by grandmother Bonnie Barrett of Prattville, and several uncles, aunts and cousins.

“There are not enough words to describe how much she will be missed, but there is comfort in knowing our daughter was loved by so many people from all over the country,” Gilham’s parents wrote in her obituary. “We have no doubt she is happier now than we could ever experience here on Earth.

“We know she is dancing around the throne of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of God,” her parents wrote. “We also have comfort in knowing we will be together again one day.”

A celebration of Gilham’s life was held April 9 at Kingwood Church. Viewing was from 4-5:30 p.m., and the funeral service began at 5:30 p.m. The graveside service was held April 10 at 2 p.m. at Harless Cemetery in Montevallo.
