Falcons finish 16th in NCAA Division II region race

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The University of Montevallo men’s cross country team wrapped up its season with a 16th place finish in team standings at the NCAA Division II Southeast Region 10K race Nov. 3, which was hosted by Queens University.
The Falcons finished 16th out of 26 teams in the race. Peach Belt Conference rival Columbus State University won the NCAA Division II Southeast Region title.
Junior David Smith led Montevallo runners in the race with his time of 34:12.3, which placed him 62nd overall in individual standings.
Freshman Chris Pirrello finished with a time of 35:09.6, which placed him 87th overall in individual standings. Sophomore Zackery Walsh came in 97th overall in individual standings with his time of 35:20.5.
Freshman Mason Webber finished 102nd overall in individual standings with a time of 35:32.0. Fellow freshman Jordan Poche came in one spot behind Webber at 103rd overall with his time of 35:35.3.
Freshman Connor Marrullo finished with a time of 36:04.0, which placed him 115th overall in individual standings. Junior Jake Davidson rounded out the group of Montevallo runners with his time of 38:16.3, which placed him 143rd overall in individual standings.
