The Oak Mountain High School baseball team defeated Hoover 9-5 to earn a split in the two-game series with the Buccaneers in Class 6A, Area 10 action April 1.

The Eagles (13-9 overall, 1-1 in Class 6A, Area 10) scored seven runs in the top of the third inning in the victory.

Robby Clements and Jake Hubbard each homered for Oak Mountain.

Clements finished 1-for-3 with a homer and drove in two runs. Hubbard went 1-for-4 at the plate with a homer and drove in two runs.

Robby Clements finished 1-for-3 with a double and drove in three runs.

Clements earned the win on the mound after giving up one earned run on 10 hits with five strikeouts and five walks in a complete game.
