PRATTVILLE– The Cornerstone Christian Chargers ended their season with a 42-20 loss at East Memorial Academy in Prattville on Oct. 25.
East Memorial (4-6, 3-3) jumped out to a 21-0 lead in the first quarter and lead 35-6 at the half after Tim Ward put Cornerstone on the board with a 2-yard run in the second quarter.
The Chargers outscored East Memorial 14-0 in the second half. Adrian Young scored on a 15-yard touchdown run and Trevor Howell added the two-point conversion.

Cornerstone head coach Tim Smith looked back on the season and said that the leadership of his seniors was critical.
“Three weeks ago we thought we’d be in the playoff,” Smith said. “The injury bug bit us. We have small numbers but we battled through it. We will build from this.”
B.J. Smith, Nate Sawyer, Sterling Riether, Adrian Young, Nick Gold, Jacob Coggins and Will Fondren each played their last high school game.
The Chargers ended the season with a 6-5 record and 3-3 in AISA Class 1A, Region 1.
