The Pelham High School softball team edged Hoover 3-2 in high school softball action March 24.

The Panthers overcame a 2-0 deficit after the top of the first inning and scored the game-winning run in the bottom of the seventh inning to clinch the victory.

Heather McGuirk and Kayla Watson led the Panthers at the plate as each finished 2-for-3 and drove in one run.

Jessie Breland and Erin Whitman each finished 1-for-3 with a double. Mary Morgan Dramer finished 1-for-4 and scored two runs.

Emily Spain picked up the win in the circle after giving up two earned runs on four hits with eight strikeouts in a complete game.
