Spain Park downs Homewood in tennis match

The Spain Park High School girls’ tennis team defeated Homewood 7-2 in high school tennis action Feb. 24.
The Jaguars (1-2) won five of six singles’ matches and two of three doubles’ matches against Homewood.
Kati Baker of Spain Park defeated Megan Spade of Homewood 8-1 in the No. 1 singles’ match. Lauren Schroeder of Spain Park defeated Sierra Booker of Homewood 8-1 in the No. 2 singles’ match.
The Jaguars’ Robyn Mitchell defeated Maggie Williams of Homewood 8-5 in the No. 4 singles’ match. Lulu Zhang of Spain Park defeated Mollie Lindsey of Homewood 8-6 in the No. 5 singles’ match.
Kensley Yarbrough of Spain Park defeated Beverly Vappie of Homewood 8-6 in the No. 6 singles’ match. Madison Luther of Spain Park fell to Molly Williams of Homewood 8-4 in the No. 3 singles’ match.
Baker and Luther defeated Spade and Cox 10-5 in the No. 1 doubles’ match. Schroeder and Zhang defeated Maggie and Molly Williams 10-5 in the No. 2 doubles’ match.
Mitchell and Yarbrough fell to Vappie and Lindsey 10-3 in the No. 3 doubles’ match.
