Ramsay defeats Thompson in three sets

ALABASTER-The Thompson High School volleyball team fell to Ramsay High School 3-0 (25-14, 25-17, 25-20) Wednesday, Aug. 5 at Thompson High School.
Coach Kellyanne Turnbow said her team had to many mental mistakes, but she was optimistic that it could be corrected.
“Tomorrow is new a day and hopefully we can come out and take care of the details,” Turnbow
In the first set, Ramsay jumped to a 6-1 lead and Thompson could not rally falling 25-14.
The second set started off better for the Warriors with Ramsay only leading 6-5 in the early going. Thompson was still within striking distance at 15-12, but Ramsay went on a 7-2 run to put the game out of reach and won 25-17.
The third set started with Ramsay jumping to a 9-4 lead, but Thompson fought back to tie the set at 19 all. Unfortunately for the Warriors, Thompson only scored one more point in the set falling 25-20.
The Warriors were led by Kelsea Bivin with eight kills. August Newberry added 10 digs.
