Pelham takes down Hoover in tennis match

The Pelham High School boys’ tennis team defeated Hoover 6-3 in a high school tennis match Feb. 15.
The Panthers won four of six singles’ matches and two doubles’ matches against Hoover.
Jim Flaniken of Pelham defeated Christian Lyerly of Hoover 6-2, 6-1 in the No. 1 singles’ match. Pelham’s Trevor Tucker defeated Haden Clowers of Hoover 6-4, 6-3 in the No. 2 singles’ match.
The Panthers’ Peyton Davis defeated Hoover’s Brandon Bolin 6-2, 6-2 in the No. 3 singles’ match. Jacob Dolinger of Pelham defeated Michael Maynard of Hoover 2-6, 6-1, 6-6 (7-4 tiebreaker) in the No. 5 singles’ match.
Flaniken and Tucker defeated Lyerly and Clowers 10-3 in the No. 1 doubles’ match. Dolinger and Anthony DeLeonard of Pelham defeated Raj Patel and Tripp White of Hoover 10-8 in the No. 3 doubles’ match.
Pelham dropped three matches against Hoover.
Taylor Honeycutt of Pelham fell to Balark Chethan of Hoover 6-2, 7-5 in the No. 4 singles’ match. Anthony DeLeonard of Pelham fell to Avinash Ananth 6-1, 6-4 in the No. 6 singles’ match.
Davis and Honeycutt fell to Bolin and Chethan 10-8 in the No. 2 doubles’ match.
