Alabaster mayoral candidate Marty Handlon will hold a meet-and-greet session at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 22 at Shelby Ridge and Rehab Select in Alabaster.
During the event, Handlon will be available to discuss issues with voters one-on-one, and will give Alabaster residents a chance to learn more about her before the Aug. 28 Alabaster municipal election.
Shelby Ridge is at 881 Third St. N.E. on the hill behind Shelby Baptist Medical Center off U.S. 31.
Handlon’s meet-and-greet session will come a few days after Handlon received the endorsement of the Alabaster Professional Firefighters Association.
“I am honored and humbled to have the support of the Alabaster Professional Firefighters Association,” Handlon said. “I am thankful for the dedication they give to our community.”
Handlon, who is a certified public accountant with a master’s degree in business administration, owns and manages an accounting law firm in Alabaster. Handlon said her candidacy “emphasizes keeping taxes low, increasing financial accountability, improving education, supporting public safety and brining transparency to government.”
Handlon has qualified to run against mayoral candidate Kevin Brand and incumbent Mayor David Frings during the Aug. 28 election.
Handlon’s campaign headquarters is at 1123 First St. N., Suite F, in Alabaster. For more information about Handlon’s campaign, visit Martyformayor.org or contact martyhandlon@bellsouth.net.
