The Montevallo High School girls’ basketball team defeated Jemison 43-25 in high school basketball action Jan. 28.

Amber Cardwell led the Bulldogs (11-7) with a game-high 26 points. Cardwell also grabbed a team-high 13 rebounds to finish with a double-double.

Savannah Smith chipped in six points, four assists and three steals in the victory.

After taking a nine-point halftime lead at 26-17, Montevallo blew the game open with a 13-2 burst in the third quarter and coasted to victory.
