The Cornerstone Christian School girls’ basketball team defeated Chambers Academy 52-39 in the Alabama Independent Schools Association Class 1A, Region 2 — Area 1 tournament semifinals Jan. 28.

The Chargers (6-11) will face Coosa Valley Academy in the AISA Class 1A, Region 2 — Area 1 championship game Jan. 29.

Kailey Goodwin led Cornerstone Christian with 14 points.

Jana Kelbie Armstrong added 13 points. Destiny Dillard contributed 10 points in the victory.

BOYS

The Cornerstone Christian School boys’ basketball team fell to Lyman Ward in the AISA Class 1A, Region 2 — Area 1 tournament semifinals Jan. 28.

Kendall Moore led the Chargers (5-11) with 14 points.

Blake Odgers added 10 points. Chase Payne finished with eight points. Auston Wingard and Clayton Halbert contributed five points each.
