Vincent downs Altamont to clinch share of area title

The Vincent High School boys’ basketball team defeated Altamont 84-46 to clinch a share of the Alabama High School Athletic Association Class 2A, Area 10 championship Jan. 28.
The Yellow Jackets (20-6 overall, 7-1 in Class 2A, Area 10) shared the regular season area title with Holy Family Catholic School. A coin toss Feb. 1 will determine which school will host the Class 2A, Area 10 tournament.
Anterio Rogers led Vincent with 21 points on 9-of-10 shooting from the floor. Rogers recorded 10 steals in the victory to finish with a double-double.
Keyon Wallace and Bruce Hamilton added 15 points each. Hamilton dished out six assists and registered four steals. Wallace dished out a team-high eight assists and finished with seven steals.
GIRLS
The Vincent High School girls’ basketball team fell to Altamont 54-35 in its final Class 2A, Area 10 contest Jan. 28.
Kiara Cohill led the Yellow Jackets (9-16 overall, 6-2 in Class 2A, Area 10) with a game-high 19 points.
