Dear Editor,

I would like to say how much people in the U.S. 280 area don’t know how much they are missing.

Everyone is constantly trying to find fun, nearby, and let’s not forget, inexpensive places to have fun.

Well, how about the wonder in our backyard — Oak Mountain State Park.

There are plenty of things to enjoy in this neighborhood attraction. Father and son can go fishing, mother and daughter can go hiking and everyone can meet at the Oak Mountain beach area for a picnic.

Dad can get out Saturday morning for a round of golf on the Oak Mountain Golf Course, and Mom can bring the kids to the playground for a day of fun-filled enjoyment.

There are so many things for everyone to do and so few people that actually do them. So come on and have a little fun.
