University of Montevallo rising senior Devon Davis was recently named an All-Star in the Cal Ripken Collegiate Baseball League.

Davis helped his National League team to a 9-3 victory July 11 over the American League. Davis is a current member of the Silver Spring-Takoma Thunderbolts.

Davis entered the All-Star game in the third inning and a pitched a shutout in the frame to help propel the National League team to victory. Davis was one of five Thunderbolts selected to the All-Star game.

Davis has made five starts for the Thunderbolts this season, pitching 29 2/3 innings. He has 18 strikeouts and a 4.55 earned run average, which is best among the starting pitchers for the Thunderbolts.

The Thunderbolts are back in action tonight as they travel to Waldorf, Md. to take on the Southern Maryland Nationals.
