CALERA – Current Calera Mayor Jon Graham recently announced his plan to run for re-election during the Aug. 28 municipal elections.
Graham has served as mayor for three years, and said he and city leadership have accomplished much during that time.
“We have accomplished a lot of things,” Graham said. “We have begun some projects that I want to see through. We’re involved in some refinancing right now that I want to be a part of through the rest of this year. It’s bond refinancing, which will bring significant savings to the city. There’s also the sports complex project that I want to see completed, as well as highway improvements I want to see completed.”
According to his website, Votejongraham.com, during Graham’s time in office, Calera has secured about $2 million in reserve, as well as repaying water loans and natural gas loans.
Graham, who owns Graham’s Automotive Inc., as well as J.G Properties Inc., said he feels qualified for re-election because of the experience he has gained over the past three years. Graham attributes his experience not only to his role as mayor but also his certification as a municipal officer with the Alabama League of Municipalities.
“I believe I have experience to offer,” he said.
