Shelby Elementary School received a $1,000 grant from the Calera Wal-Mart to be utilized for Project Play, an initiative to update the Shelby Elementary School playground. Students, parents, faculty and staff have been working diligently to raise funds for this project. With the grant from Wal-Mart, the first phase of the project will soon become a reality, as the pavilion is constructed.
