This year Calera Elementary School took part in Hoops for Heart, a new variation of Jump Rope for Heart. During physical education classes, students tried to ring hoops with basketballs. Students had the opportunity to participate in a fundraiser all week for kids with special hearts. In each class, the two students that collected the most donations were rewarded with a fun task. The winners got to roll the PE teacher in toilet paper like a mummy, prompting a lot of laughter from the rest of the class! These activities are fantastic for teaching children the importance of participating in community projects and staying active.
