High school basketball roundup: Shelby County boys pick up area win against rival Chelsea

The Shelby County High School boys’ basketball team defeated rival Chelsea 67-65 in a Class 5A, Area 7 contest Dec. 10.
Ty Lollar led the Wildcats (3-4 overall, 1-1 in Class 5A, Area 7) with 24 points.
Tyler Madison added 15 points in the victory. Jonathan Pennington contributed 14 points.
Jake Ganus led Chelsea (5-4 overall, 0-1 in Class 5A, Area 7) with a game-high 32 points.
D.D. Washington added 20 points and 12 rebounds. D.J. Washington chipped in 10 points and 10 rebounds.
Pelham falls to Hueytown
The Pelham High School boys’ basketball team fell to Hueytown 43-42 in high school basketball action Dec. 10.
Tony Williams led the Panthers (2-6) with 14 points.
Alec Rash added nine points. Xavier Lacey contributed eight points. Williams and Rash grabbed a team-high six rebounds each.
Montevallo falls to McAdory
The Montevallo High School boys’ basketball team fell to McAdory 43-32 on Dec. 10.
Garrius Chappell led the Bulldogs (1-3) with 12 points.
Indian Springs tops Shades Mountain Christian
The Indian Springs School boys’ basketball team defeated Shades Mountain Christian 35-34 on Dec. 10.
Charlie Simpson led Indian Springs (6-4) with 13 points.
Hart Wilson added 10 points in the victory.
Kingwood Christian tops Sparta Academy in tournament
The Kingwood Christian School boys’ basketball team opened play in the Wilcox Academy tournament Dec. 10 with a 67-58 win over Sparta Academy.
Charles Pope led the Lions (6-4) with 21 points.
Madison Webb added 20 points and a team-high nine rebounds. Jordan Myers contributed 15 points and four assists. Daniel Fillingim finished with 10 points.
Evangel Christian defeats rival Hope Christian
The Evangel Christian School boys’ basketball team recorded a 55-45 win over rival Hope Christian in an Alabama Christian Sports Conference contest Dec. 10.
Marcus Johnson led the Lightning (6-0 overall, 6-0 in ACSC) with 19 points.
Aaron Walker added 16 points and a team-high 10 rebounds.
Terrance Moore led Hope Christian (3-4 overall, 2-3 in ACSC) with 14 points.
Seth Burnham contributed 12 points.
