Eagles pick up first region tournament win

The Calera High School softball team posted its first win in an Alabama High School Athletic Association Class 4A region tournament following a 5-2 win over Bibb County in its tournament opener May 11.
Jocelyn Davis led the Eagles with three hits in the victory, including a homer.
Katie Eiland added three hits. Shelby Wright finished with two hits, including a double. Anna Seabury added one hit.
Davis drove in two runs in the win. Eiland, Wright and Anna Seabury drove in one run each.
Eiland earned the win in the circle following her complete-game victory.
Calera fell to Holtville 13-6 in the tournament May 11.
Eiland led the Eagles with three hits, including a double. McGiboney also finished with a double.
Davis added two hits. Shelby Clark, Somer Roberson, Samantha Smith and Seabury finished with one hit each.
The Eagles were eliminated from the region tournament May 12 following a 6-5 loss to Jemison in eight innings.
McGiboney led Calera offensively with three hits, including a triple and a double.
