Knights claim section track and field title

The Westminster School at Oak Mountain boys’ and girls’ track and field teams each captured an Alabama High School Athletic Association Class 1A section track and field championship April 28 at Falkville.
Katie Brooks Boone and Morgan Reynolds led the Knights with two titles each in individual events.
Boone won the girls’ 100-meter dash with her time of 12.56 seconds. Boone also won the girls’ 300-meter hurdles with her time of 47.91 seconds.
Boone finished second in the girls’ 200-meter dash with her time of 25.72 seconds. Boone also came in second in the girls’ 400-meter dash with her time of 58.89 seconds.
Morgan Reynolds won the girls’ 1,600-meter run with her time of 5:38.60. Reynolds also won the girls’ 800-meter run with her time of 2:31.86.
Reynolds also finished second in the girls’ 3,200-meter run with her time of 12:22.34.
Hope Thompson won the girls’ high jump competition with her leap of 30 feet, 4 inches. Thompson also finished third in the girls’ long jump with her leap of 14 feet, 7.5 inches.
Andrew Carrell led the Westminster boys’ team with three individual titles.
Carrell won the boys’ 110-meter hurdles with his time of 16.29 seconds, the 300-meter hurdles with his time of 43.01 seconds and the 400-meter dash with his time of 52.85 seconds.
Adam Dunkerley claimed the 800-meter run title with his time of 2:04.47. Jacob Welch won the boys’ high jump competition with his leap of 5 feet, 2 inches.
