VINCENT — The town of Vincent will showcase its Christmas parade for its Small Towns and Downtowns event Nov. 29.

The Small Towns and Downtowns events, which are part of a statewide initiative, are intended to be homecoming celebrations.

Council member Bridgette Jordan-Smith said the town will also incorporate the famous Vincent Christmas Tree, which is the largest natural Christmas tree in the state of Alabama.

A historical marker will be placed at the Christmas tree at 4:30 p.m. before the start of the parade at 6 p.m.

“We’re very excited about the parade,” Jordan-Smith said. “It’s something we’ve been doing in the town of Vincent for a very long time.”

Jordan-Smith said the town has been able to purchase new lights and decorations for the tree through donations.

“The tree gets a lot of compliments,” she said. “This year as people pass by, they’ll be able to see more lights on the tree and an even prettier tree.”

Jordan-Smith said she’s hoping to see at least 500 people attend the event.

Vincent officials are asking for anyone who wants to be part of the parade to register at the Vincent Town Hall. Vendors will also be allowed to set up booths at no cost. Vendors should also register with the town hall. Vincent Town Hall can be reached at 672-2261.
