Shelby County high school cross country teams are gearing up for Alabama High School Athletic Association section meets Nov. 4-6 ahead of the state championship meet Nov. 13.

Oak Mountain, Pelham, Spain Park and Thompson will compete at a Class 6A section meet Nov. 4 at Veterans Park in Hoover. Briarwood Christian and Shelby County will participate in the Class 5A section meet Nov. 4 at Veterans Park.

Chelsea will compete at a Class 5A section meet Nov. 4 in Trussville. Indian Springs will participate in a Class 3A section meet at the same course Nov. 4 in Trussville.

Vincent will run in a Class 1A-2A section meet Nov. 4 at Cold Springs High School in Bremen.

Westminster School at Oak Mountain will compete at a Class 1A-2A section meet Nov. 6 at Sokol Park in Tuscaloosa.

The top three teams at each section meet will qualify for the AHSAA state championship meet Nov. 13 at Indian Mounds Park in Oakville. The top six individuals not on the section roster of the three qualifying teams will also earn a trip to the state championship meet.
